I've Been Up to No Good

I've been making way too many fractals the past few days. On the weekends I stay up all hours of the night. Some day this obsession is sure to come to an end. But it's been going on for nine months now. I don't see any end in sight.

Wednesday

It's Wednesday, lunch time. Two and a half more days to go. I think I can make it. For those of you that work five days a week, have you noticed that we spend five days waiting for only two days?

Time to Go Home

The Quilt

Tired of Squares, Yet?

I hope you all aren't tired of my "Squares" theme, yet. I seem to be strangely drawn to them.

It's Snowing

Yesterday I made a post about how I wish it would snow. It is snowing right now. Snow always gets people interested. I can see co-workers' heads peeping up above their cubicles just so they can take a peek at the snow outside.

Bits 'n Pieces

Maybe someday I'll take all these small fractals and piece them together to make a scene. I think this particular fractal would make some nice funky clouds.

Insight for the Day

Back in the day, parents, coaches and teachers used to say, "Practice makes perfect." They were really on to something.

Hobbies

To really get the most out of life, you should have a hobby. Apophysis is mine.

Trance

I sort of go into a trance when I make fractals. It's a very meditative state. That's how focused I am. It's almost as if nothing else in the world exists. It's a good way to get the mind off things. Not that I have any worries right now. But it at least keeps me from finding things to worry about.

The fractal below is almost like the one above. I just made a few changes. It's a little more chaotic, I think.

I'm Picky

I've noticed I've started to become more picky about what fractals I'll save. I used to save just about anything that looked interesting, but now it seems all fractals look interesting, so I have to keep working until something really stands out. For instance, I've been working for hours on Apophysis today, and have only come up with about four nice fractals.

Ice Crystals

I hope to see some more snow during this holiday season.

Monday Morning

I hate Mondays. I guess I shouldn't complain, though. I have Apophysis to make it better.

New Beginnings

Well, good news and bad news. I always start with the bad news first because it's best to end on a good note. So, here goes the bad news: David and I had to reformat the computer so I lost a lot of my fractals parameters. That means that some of my fractals won't ever be able to be manipulated or edited for printing. The good news is two-fold. At least I have the jpegs on this blog as a memory of what I created. The other good news: I think I've improved a little bit in my Apophysis work, so here's to new beginnings and new even better fractal images.

Moral of the story: back-up your artwork in case the computer crashes and you lose everything!

Good Night

More Thoughts for Tonight

I'm hopelessly addicted to making these things. I was starting to grow bored with Apophysis. I was making images that I wasn't happy with. Dzeni saved me. :)
